ATTR 523 Clinical Education III

Students will demonstrate an ability to make clinical decisions utilizing the tenets of evidence-based practice by careful examination of current literature and guest speakers covering current issues in athletic training practice. They will continue to be socialized into the profession of athletic training and demonstrate a sense of collegiality through discussions with classmates and their assigned clinical rotations. They will also apply knowledge and skills learned in previous athletic training courses to the clinical setting through their assigned clinical rotation under the direct supervision of a preceptor. Students must complete a minimum of 400 clinical education hours in an immersive experience. Students will be given increased responsibility by their preceptors during their clinical rotations as they gain more knowledge and understanding of the role of an athletic trainer as a member of the sports medicine team.
