EDFI 650 Literacy Assessment, Curriculum Alignment and Data Analysis

This is a field-based course in which candidates examine district grade level data with special emphasis on the assessment and instruction of one group of students. Candidates will work with a literacy specialist to examine the process of short cycle assessment, progress monitoring, data analysis and curriculum alignment at the building and district level. The candidate will attend grade-level meetings at which teachers analyze their literacy assessment data. The candidate will learn how to enter assessment data into one of the technology systems used in Ohio. The field experience component in this course is 33 clock hours in one of three grade bands required for the Reading Endorsement. This course covers all relevant state and federal mandates.
