MIST 370 Socio-Technical Project Management

Students will explore the relationship between organizational development life cycles, i.e., system, project, and enterprise, and unique planning, initiating, and control activities required for increasingly complex projects. Students will design work breakdown structures (WBS) in relation to increasingly larger scaled and scoped projects where there is a corresponding and increasingly significant impact on emergent organizational complexity, uncertainty, and change. Students will further differentiate social, political, and cultural forces that must be considered during enterprise information system (EIS) implementations, such as ERP systems. Students will practice integrating project management and program management best practice fundamentals to enhance project success.
