PHAR 350 Introduction to Pharmacy I

This course will introduce the student to modern pharmacy practice. The topics presented will provide the student with the basic knowledge and skills required in professional pharmacy practice. These topics include: pharmacy law, calculations, top 200 medications, drug information resources, the role of the pharmacist in the American health care system, and an introduction to over-the-counter medications. Students will apply what they learn in this course and combine it with the communication, patient safety, and professionalism skills they acquire in PHAR 391 to conduct supervised health screenings and patient counseling at a service-learning event.
